Introduction to Housekeeping
The housekeeping department is responsible for maintaining and cleaning the guestrooms, public areas, back of the house areas and office spaces in the hotel so that the property is as attractive and fresh as its first day of business. Although the roles that housekeeping performs vary from one hotel to another, the tasks performed by the housekeeping department are critical to the smooth daily operations of any hotel.
