LAPT Piano Examination - Grade 6

Our Piano Examinations are designed to develop comprehensive pianistic skills, combining technical accuracy with musical interpretation and expressive performance. Students are assessed on their ability to demonstrate appropriate finger techniques, scales, arpeggios, rhythm, sight-reading, musical expression and performance proficiency according to their examination grade. As candidates progress through the grades, greater emphasis is placed on musical interpretation, stylistic awareness, technical control and advanced repertoire. Grades 6-8 - Advanced Musical Achievement: The advanced grades are designed for students who have developed substantial musical proficiency. Examinations focus on sophisticated techniques, challenging repertoire, stylistic understanding, musical maturity and refined performance skills.
